Each year, the summer seems to pass by more quickly. While I tried to take advantage of those hot and humid days, spending as much time as I could outside, I always enter September feeling like it was never enough.
As always, there were too few beach days, too few campfires, and too few afternoons on the deck with friends. Luckily, Huron/Perth is often blessed with gorgeous fall days and there’s nothing I love more than a warm September or October afternoon followed by a crisp, cool evening.
I vow to take advantage of our beautiful autumn weather, knowing how fleeting summer feels! I hope you can also find time to enjoy the fall season while returning to your regular work (or retirement!) schedules, the resumption of volunteering duties that were on hiatus during the summer, and your preparations for the long winter months.
In this issue you can brush up on local history with an article about Clinton, home of the radar base that helped turn the tide of the Second World War. On a health-related note, local writer Amanda Modaragamage writes about why taking care of your gut health is vitally important to overall wellness. LauraLee Giliberti tells us why growing older is a fine art in “Living outrageously” and Ruth McLelland and Chris Lee write about the development of the Goderich-to-Guelph Rail Trail in Huron County. Finally, Jill Ellis-Worthington shares her travel experience in southern Florida.
I hope you can take some time this fall to fully enjoy all Huron/Perth has to offer!
